A lesson before dying pages 17-30
What happened before was a man named Jefferson, Miss Emma's son, was going to be on the death penalty. Miss Emma, Tante Lou (Grant's aunt), and Grant Wiggins went to Mr. Henri Pichot (a lawyer), and was upset because they called Jefferson a "hog" when he was on trial. Miss Emma didn't care if her son would die, but she just wanted him to die like a man. Mr. Henri said he will talk to Jefferson and see if he likes it or not. Now that they left Mr. Henri's place, Grant can go to Bayonne which he planned to go to. He went to a cafe which was owned by the Claiborne's, and he ordered his "usual" food there. He went to a phone and called up his wife, Vivian. He told her that they needed to talk about something important. Vivian came to the cafe and sat in front of Grant. Grant told her that he wanted to move somewhere else. Somewhere where there isn't much hell.

These are great summaries, Brian. With all the details that you're giving, I feel like I'm reading the story along with you. At this point, you can start including some of your reaction to what's happening in the story, to the characters, to what you like and dislike about the book. Soon, your classmates will be reading your blog, so what you write will help them decide if they want to read your book or not. Mr. C
