A Lesson before dying pgs. 48-56

Grant, and Sam Guidry had a meeting together talking about Jefferson's death sentence. Sam Guidry is this fat man and he is not a nice guy. What they talk about is basically about the whole "hog" situation. He asks Grant a bunch of questions and he answers them all. After Grant told Sam Guidry about Jefferson dying like a man, Sam didn't like the idea at all, but he told Grant to meet with some person later. Grant had to go to school the next day, so he got all ready. It was an important day because the superintendant was coming that day. He told his class to come all clean. When the superintendant named Dr. Joseph came in, he told a girl to come up and recite a bible verse. After she sang it, he was quite amazed and told her she should be proud of herself. Dr. Joseph then called a kid who wasn't that bright and told him to recite the pledge. After he did it, Dr. Joseph wasn't as amazed.

Hi, this is Ms. Peso, one of the librarians at GBN. I really enjoy your summary of the book. It makes me want to read it! What do you think of the book so far?
