Tony Dungy Quiet Strength pages 1-30

This section of the book is basically talking about Tony Dungy when he was a little kid-college student. It mainly talks about what he did in high school and college. An interesting fact was that Tony Dungy enjoyed basketball more than football in high school. Another interesting fact is that Tony Dungy attended Parkside high school, and his mother was a teacher at Jackson high school. Those 2 schools were rivals but his mom was still a fan of Tony Dungy. Tony then talks about how he was going to quit football in senior year since the school didn't allow 2 black captains, but his coach convinced him to play and he did. When Tony was looking for a college to attend, he attended Minnesota. Although he did want to go to Michigan State, Minnesota made the best offer.

David Beckham pages 28-45

This book is becoming great but its moving very slow. He goes into detail in many things like how he got into Manchester United. The thing that I'm learning about my character is that he is really obsessed with soccer. Even though he had to be away from his parents for a while, he still wanted to play soccer. He was very committed even if it was to be away from your family. He is a very hard worker, because he never gives up and he always attempts again. He also likes Victoria a lot because he keeps talking about how beautiful she was. I feel like David Beckham is a very good soccer player because he is someone that doesn't give up, and thats the kind of person that I like the most. I think that he is one of the best soccer player that are living right now.

David Beckham pages 1-28

The autobiography David Beckham book is a fantastic book. It is easy to understand and it is also very fun to read. It just talks about how he played soccer in the past when he was younger. He always dreamed of playing for Manchester United and when he was 11, it finally came true. He was scouted and then picked to play for them. He also talks about how much his dad supports him by taking him to a park and practicing with him as well as his mother who supports him by watching his games and encouraging him. Thats how much his parents love him. I think that David Beckham is an excellent soccer player even though I don't play. Every time I watch him play, I am shocked and amazed of the abilities that he is able to do. I like David Beckham very much and I think he is one of the best soccer players out there. If I spent the afternoon with David Beckham, I think we would go to a soccer field and play for a few hours and then go for lunch in a fancy place. I would enjoy it by bringing a friend of mine so it will be less awkward and make it that it is not a one on one date with David Beckham.

Eragon Pages 106-114

The part I read wasn't much. It was basically Brom and Eragon still journeying. Eragon was using the stolen leather to make a saddle for saphira, but he didn't really know how to make one. Brom decided to make one for him and it looked very good. Brom and Eragon then started to pack up and leave to Zar'roc. Before they left, Brom told Eragon that it would be good to own horses. Even though Eragon has the dragon, Brom told Eragon that the dragon needs to be hidden. After the discussion, they camped out in an area and they talked more about dragons. What I liked about this chapter was a friendship building up with Eragon and Brom. They are becoming more friendly to each other. The part I disliked is how soon there one day journey was. They should have more details when they are moving place to place. Other than that this book is great.

Eragon pages 98-106

The thing that is going on is Eragon, Brom and Saphira are about to go visit Eragon's house, which was burnt down. He went in there to see if his dad was okay or not. Unfortunately, his dad was not there so his dad might be dead from the fire. Eragon got some stuff he needed from the house and he left with Saphira and Brom. When they were going on to their journey, they found a good resting place and decided to sleep there for the night. Eragon and Brom started to talk. Eragon really wanted to know who Brom r eally is. Eragon asked Brom all these questions about why he is coming with Eragon to the journey, and how he knows a lot about dragons. But Brom does not tell him the true answer. Eragon is also suspicious why Brom has a Dragon sword which only dragon riders carry. Brom decided to give that sword to Eragon. I am predicting that Brom was also a dragon rider just like Eragon because he has so much knowledge about them and he carried a Dragon Rider sword. What I like about this part is that it tells a lot about the character. It explains a lot about Brom in the part I read. My dislike about this part is how there is no action. The part was mostly about Brom talking about himself.

Eragon pages 1-38

The story was basically about a boy named Eragon, who went to go buy some meat for his family. When he was talking to the guy selling meat, Eragon pulled out a spherical ball looking thing and asked the trader how much it would be worth. The trader told him that it wouldn't be a deal. Eragon went home and few days later, he found out that the sphere started to crack. Eragon then found out it was an egg, but then the animal inside the egg was a dragon. Eragon couldn't believed what happened. I think the section I read was good because it caught my attention when Christopher Paolini started to describe what was going on with the egg. I also like it how the story is set up in the beginning. He finds a sphere and doesn't know what it is, until it starts hatching. That was a good story set up.
