A lesson before dying pages 82-114

Grant was still at Jeffereson's jail cell, and still talking to JEfferson. Whenever Grant asked hi,m something, Jefferson wouldn't respond. Finally Grant told him that he brought fried chicken for him, and told him to take a bite. But then Jefferson told Grant that Hogs dont eat like that. Jefferson got on his knees and showed Grant how hogs eat. Grant got upset and forgot he never saw that. When he went to Claibourne's bar, he got a couple of beers and tried looking for his girl, Vivian. He overheard people talking about Jackie Robinson and it made Grant thinking about him. Vivian finally showed up and they kissed for a little and went out with other teachers to eat. When Grant came home, his aunt asked what had happenend in the jail cell. He told her that everything was okay. Grant's aunt didn't believe him but Grant kept telling her it was okay.

A Lesson before dying pages 67-82

The part I read was basically about Grant, his aunt and Miss Emma, going to Bayonne to meet Jefferson in his jail cell. Miss Emma made Jefferson some food for him and fresh clothing to offer him. When they were in the car, it was very quiet, and nobody talked. When they got to the jail building, the deputy had to search them to see if they were criminals and they had to look through the food to see if it is okay to bring in. When they went in, Miss Emma tried talking with him, but Jefferson didn't look at her nor talk to her. It wasn't a happy moment for Miss Emma so she left crying. The next day, Grant was forced to go alone by his aunt. Miss Emma was sick so she had to stay home with Grant's aunt. When he went to the jail cell of Jefferson, he asked if Grant brought any corn. Grant asked why, and Jefferson told him that thats what hogs eat.
